idiocracy of democracy
yes, that’s right, my absentee ballot.
as a point of interest, notice the size of the actual return address, where i’ve indicated with the purple arrows – go ahead and click if you’re curious to see it full size.
third time’s the charm, right?

I’m not terribly surprised, looking at the full size picture it occurred to me that there wasn’t actually a send to address on it. Eventually I noticed the BOSTON bit on the bottom.
It might be worthwhile to circle that in red marker…
Good Luck!

Umm – yeah, I think I can sorta understand their problem here. It’s not the return address – it’s that the main address is actually a bit goofy looking and the big black bar about “election materials” is confusing. My official envelope DID have the return address in the same place, but the address looked more like an address and was printed locally by my county’s election commission – and so had a real street address.
On the other hand, you’d think that “election materials”, etc would indicate that it should go to be counted in America and not some flat in Upper Tooting. However, after the 2000 elections, you’d could forgive them for thinking we have strange ways of counting our ballots.
You know you can take it up to the embassy and have them post it for free? I know that’s a PITA.
